Path of Exile 2 developer Grinding Gear Games has promised a sweeping set of changes after scathing player feedback for the game’s latest big update. Gabe Gurwin is the SEO Editor for GameSpot and has been writing about games professionally for over a decade. He has interviewed video game legends like Will Wright and Tony Hawk and would love to talk to you about Paddington, Nier, Splinter Cell, or all three. Initially, it appeared the problem was primarily with Blizzard Entertainment, where allegations and several reports of harassment, discrimination, and sexism led to a lawsuit by the State of California.

Its lofty price tag is making us start to think about how much Nintendo’s Switch successor and future PlayStation and Xbox consoles will cost, too. It was dominated by layoffs, significant strategic shifts from some of the biggest companies in the industry, and gigantic live service flops that demonstrated just how hard that space is to break into. In our mission to constantly improve the Xbox platform, March is bringing several updates for players to enjoy.

And while it may not have an OLED screen, the 7.9-inch LED display Nintendo did use is outstanding. The GameChat function works with a mic built into the console, though headsets are also supported. Nintendo will also sell a $50 camera that plugs into the USB-C port on the top of the console, which will allow you to stream your face along with your game. The new Joy-Con 2 for Nintendo Switch 2 attaches magnetically with a button to release them. They have larger SL and SR buttons (the ones hidden when the Joy-Con are attached) to make playing multiplayer games on individual Joy-Cons more feasible. These buttons are also made of steel and attach to the Switch 2’s magnets.

S, as Sony and Major League Baseball had suggested in the past, but it also launched on Game Pass. With basically every other console generation, we saw new systems’ preorders sell out quickly, they would be tough to find for a few months, and then they’d end up on store shelves. The IGN Convention logo was designed by prominent Gulf based artist Ashraf Ghori.

What Are The Launch Games?

An April 11 report from IGN originally elevated May 8 as the new US pre-order date, but the publication has since walked that back. In fact, that date was already the one slated for Nintendo to confirm the first batch of pre-orders through its site. The Nintendo Switch 2 has a 1080p 7.9-inch display with a 120Hz refresh and HDR compatibility. It also supports up to 4K output at 120Hz (with variable refresh rates) when docked. We don’t know who is making Donkey Kong Bananza, but all signs point to it being Nintendo’s star team.

But I still think manual control is better so you can see the beautiful scenery. Assassin’s Creed Shadows is getting several quality of life updates which will go into effect April 8th. You’ll be able to tag items in your inventory for mass dismantling or selling instead of doing it individually. You’ll also be able to reset your skill points to more easily respec your two assassins.

Yet, keeping track of all the latest developments and juiciest game leaks is expected of any avid gamer. That’s why having a hub that compiles important information into one place comes in handy. The value of the video game industry is expected to exceed $90 billion in the coming years. The jump from PS5 to PS5 Pro is less recognizable than the difference between a base PS4 and PS4 Pro. Considering that it is already $200 more expensive than a regular PS5, those were some pretty massive caveats PlayStation fans had to deal with. The PS5 Pro still stands as the biggest gaming hardware release of 2024, considering we did not get a new Nintendo console.

The console will launch with exclusive titles like Mario Kart World and will be backward-compatible with most Switch games. Mobile gaming is a behemoth in terms of annual revenue, and our gaming news coverage includes iOS, Android, mobile web and more, including companies like Netflix trying to get a foot in the door. We also report on the AAA gaming studios, which are increasingly a target for acquisitive giants like Microsoft and Sony. On April 2, Nintendo announced that the Switch 2 would cost $450 standalone, or $500 with a bundled digital copy of the new Mario Kart game, Mario Kart World.

FromSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki has confirmed that the studio doesn’t intend to stop making single-player-focused games in future. Sega has announced that free-to-play battle royale party game Sonic Rumble will officially be launching on PC and mobile next month. PlayStation Studios acquired Nixxes Software, a company that has specialized in creating PC ports, as it continues to release former PlayStation-exclusive games to PC.

Could these games be enhanced to take advantage of the increased horsepower of the Switch 2? In an “Ask the Developer” page on its site, Nintendo says that old games are working through a real-time translation system, which sounds similar to how Rosetta allows modern Macs to run old software. With that said, the new and old Switch are much closer in hardware than that. As of April 1, the vast majority of Switch 2 games are marked as compatible, but many popular games are said to have some issues. Nintendo has marked most of these as “under investigation,” suggesting a fix may be on the way in time for launch. In the initial Nintendo Switch 2 press release, Nintendo reiterated that physical and digital Switch games will work on the new system.

This month we’re introducing more ways to access games, offering new ways to be rewarded for gaming, and launching additional in-game benefits for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members. It’s also clear Netflix isn’t interested in just having multiplatform games on its service. The company purchased Oxenfree developer Night School Studios in September, likely for expansion into exclusive games. These games, Netflix has promised, will also have no in-app purchases or ads, which is a rarity for mobile games in 2021 and could attract more traditional players who are otherwise not interested in mobile gaming. In September, the newly spun-out standalone internet media company, changed its name to Snowball.com.

Resident Evil 2, 3, and 7 are getting next-gen updates for modern consoles. It’s believed that the updates are also coming to the PC versions (sans framerate, because you know why) soon. Resident Evil Village has sold more than 6 million copies worldwide, and to celebrate, Capcom is releasing story DLC starring Ethan’s daughter, Rose.
