There are classes and backgrounds to choose agen96 login from, but all skill trees—fighter, ranger, wizard, and godlike—are available to all classes, and I ended up with a fully blended build without feeling disadvantaged for not specialising. I can’t change the gear used by my companions, but they steadily accrue special attacks I can trigger at any time. My crew is pretty good at using these specials themselves, but they’re close to useless when it comes to moment-to-moment combat, except when I revisit areas I’m way overpowered for. Bigger than it first appears, Avowed is an engrossing and gorgeous action-RPG set in one of the most engaging fantasy worlds going, though it lacks the complex systems of its most beloved contemporaries. We get some hands-on time with Borderlands 4 and find Gearbox has revitalised the looter-shooter with fun new ideas that should please newcomers and veterans of the series. Updated
However, Star Wars Outlaws essentially delivers a Han Solo-like experience in both good and bad ways; it has some handsome looks and a strong sense of adventure, but it’s also somewhat scruffy around the edges and is liable to let you down from time to time. Designed with younger players in mind, Disney Illusion Island is a colourful Metroidvania that’s devoid of combat. The color scheme comes from video games, where “orange” loot is often best, with purple, blue, and green tiered loot following.

The Switch 2 is the console that we’ll keep with us often, perhaps even closer than our Steam Decks because we may bring it out for a single session on the go or share it with friends in various ways that you can’t with a PS5, Xbox, or PC. There were few wholly new, must-have games on launch day, but they’re coming. Nintendo knows a steady release of games featuring its most beloved characters will keep the Switch 2 momentum going. Third-party developers have been dying for more power to port their typically more graphics-intensive games to Nintendo’s consoles—and now they’re getting just that.
Date Everything (xbox Series) Review
It supports current-gen features like ray tracing, at least to some small degree, and has DLSS to help it keep up with systems that are rendering games natively. How well it will stack up with future hardware from PlayStation and Xbox is a more difficult question. Game developers will need to program with the Switch 2 in mind, especially if they try to port any ultra-demanding title like Grand Theft Auto VI in the future. There are other delightful and easily overlooked improvements that Nintendo made to the Switch 2. The aforementioned Joy-Con 2 controllers connect with a satisfying click to the console using magnets instead of the sliding rail mechanism on the original Switch.
Played entirely online, with each player controlling an individual avatar, Rematch is available in 3v3, 4v4 and 5v5 modes. While the middle option is presented as the default, I’ve found 3v3s to be the most engaging, as you always feel a part of the action, and can make game-defining moments regularly. But in 3v3s, you really can’t carry anybody, so you need a good team. As good as the Switch 2 is for local co-op in regular sessions of Split Fiction or Mario Kart World, Nintendo still hasn’t figured out what players want from online multiplayer. Playing games with online video and voice chat is hampered by subpar camera and mic capabilities. The Switch 2’s minuscule built-in microphone is supposed to pick up your voice even when you’re a good six to eight feet from the TV.

That was after multiple crashes before that point, and I also had to reload saves because I fell through the world multiple times and got stuck on level geometry. But it’s not just simply a beefy expansion with loads of content. The world of Elden Ring is rich with lore and the story Shadow of the Erdtree tells adds new layers to that rich text. The backstories for characters like Queen Marika and Miquella are both enlightening and tragic, and the sense of discovery players get when uncovering these secrets prove that nobody does world design quite like FromSoftware.
You get more performance, a bigger and sharper screen, Joy-Con 2 controllers that now magnetically attach and support mouse controls for exciting possibilities in shooters and real-time strategy games, and GameChat video and voice communications. The Switch 2 hardware is iterative—a specs bump—but it’ll also be the exclusive platform for Nintendo’s biggest and most recognizable gaming franchises. If you want to play Nintendo’s latest and greatest titles, like the now-available Mario Kart World or the upcoming Donkey Kong Bananza, the Switch 2 is the only option, even if you have a PS5 or Xbox Series S/X. There’s no question that this is a great game, but the problem is that this is not the ideal way to experience it.
The Switch 2 Looks Better And Plays Better
This is a strange feature, because the game isn’t available on Switch 1, but Donkey Kong Bananza seems to have the same option. As you might expect, the Switch 1 version doesn’t run nearly as well as on the Switch 2, but it is playable, and this is presumably going to become a relatively common feature for Switch 2 games. None of that makes much difference but what is encouraging is that the majority of the third party ports so far have been very high quality, and surprisingly close to the PlayStation 5 versions. It’s been over two weeks since the Nintendo Switch 2 came out and it’s only now that we can bring our coverage of the launch to a conclusion. For no adequately explored reason, Nintendo didn’t send out review units until the day before launch, so no outlet was able to prepare reviews beforehand and even now it’s only the high-profile ones that have been covered in any detail.
This PC port shows us one of the best versions of the game to date. The iconic plumbers are back for their latest adventure since 2015, and their first one is on consoles. What could be their biggest adventure yet is also one that tends to drag more than it should.
